Saint Lena's Cathedral

After the previous temple sustained disastrous fire damage, the Lenonian Church opted to construct a new Cathedral on the banks of the Homari River near the historical region of Aurum Vale. The new cathedral's location was chosen to coincide with the believed original location of Saint Lena's funeral pyre. This place of worship's facade would be more prominent, grander, and imposing than any previous church, yet the interior would remain plain to reflect the personality of Saint Lena herself.

Purpose / Function

A place of healing and worship, Saint Lena's Cathedral offers the largest refuge for reflection for the Lenonian sect. The Cathedral houses a hospital and a dormitory for wayfinders who can complete their pilgrimage to the remote temple.   Any who travel to the Cathedral are permitted to bask below the Silver Star, a holy relic discovered in the ash remains of the Church's founder, which is located hoisted above the primary alter. The symbol of the Church, the Silver Star, causes those in its presence to have their wounds healed and diseases cured along with a faint smell of lilac.

Architecture

The cathedral's outer walls and towers are constructed from a combination of limestone and marble. The stone used in the construction was quarried from Dagdara, a few hundred miles east. The marble statues of 30 of the Churches most revered saints and martyrs are on the outer western wall. The eastern wall features an immaculate and ornate stained glass window depicting the Great Star and the many miracles granted by the Five Divines.   In a fashion reminiscent of their warrior saint, Saint Lena's Cathedral's only defenses are positioned on the western side to represent her unyielding willingness to defend her people from the oceanic invaders from across the western sea.
