Kjeldorn

Kjeldorn is the name of the world featured in the DAWN Campaign Setting.
    Kjeldorn is a planet situated within a wildspace system codenamed Dawnspace by spelljammers.   Kjeldorn is a world well-known to Erdosian scholars. For starters, the Erdosian gods Chronos, Tyr, and Dragomir have a particularly strong presence there;—the latter was once a mortal stregoni born of this world. Furthermore, Shadokhan, the Archmage Supreme, spend years on Kjeldorn and discovered the secrets to lichdom here. Today, many Kjeldornan magicians have sigil sequences to portals on Erdos and vice versa.   This cross-pollination between the two words may be because of the close relative proximity their systems have in the astral sea. Or the proximity was caused by it given the malleability of planar geography in the Empyreal Universe.   Like many planets, Kjeldorn orbits a sun, but the planet’s rotation around itself is so slow that it does not have a day/night cycle. Kjeldorn is thus divided in four regions, each named after the time of day that they eternally experience.  

Dawn

It’s the region between Night and Day. It is generally considered the most hospitable for mortals, and the center-stage of its story, hence it’s featured as the name of the Campaign Setting.   The Firstborn Empire of the island Havnor is the dominant nation of Dawn, and perhaps the main bastion of civilization against the aberrant powers of Dusk. The Ascended King—the empire’s ruler—is believed by some to be an incarnated avatar of Chronos.  

Day

A vast region of seas and rolling deserts. Eternally under the gaze of the sun, it is a hot inhospitable region. Magical oases are the only respite for travelers. The planar barrier that separates Kjeldorn from the Feywild is extremely thin here. As a result the land in saturated with eldritch energies and Fey Crossings are a common occurrence.  

Dusk

It lies between Day and Night, and is wracked by the influence of the Far Outside. The corrupting phenomenon known as the Warp has all but overwhelmed this region, and few dare walk the lands of Dusk as they run the risk of encountering aberrant monstrosities out of mind.   Dusk is the seat of power of the organization known as the Devout, servants of the so-called Dark King—an emissary of the Gods of the Far Outside.  

Night

Forever encased in icy darkness, it is the primary domain of Frost Giants, Night is perhaps the most inhospitable area of Kjeldorn. Necrotic energies are strong in Night for the region’s planar barriers with the mirror plane of the Shadowfell are thin.
