Old World

The Old World is a section of Landäria, covering roughly a third of the known world. This "known world" is including the New World. It is the origin point for colonies of the New World, and the human kingdoms.
The dwarves live in the Ungar Mountains to the north, and a few orc nomad tribes wander the Petrified Desert.
The geography is interesting and varies greatly from region to region. The west coast only recently (500 years ago) rose from the water, and is littered with petrified sea beast skeletons and ruined merfolk cities.
The east coast is far older (10,000 years old), and is full of abandoned lizard folk cities from the ancient empire of lizard folk. The few remaining lizard folk settlements are but a shadow of their former glory, ruled by petty warlords fighting amongst themselves.
The center is bright and vibrant, and it is where most of the human kingdoms are located.
The northernmost regions of the Old World are covered with snow and ice, and are ravaged by ferocious beasts, while the south is hot and humid, quite tropical and littered with forests. This area is relatively quiet and peaceful, though two of the human kingdoms are here and wage proxy-wars often.

Ecosystem

Savage beasts terrorize the north and eat any living thing they come across. In the south, wolves, deer, foxes, rabbits, and other forest animals live in the woods, and a couple of human kingdoms lie there. To the west coast, dire wolves, giant spiders, and other freaks of nature patrol. In the east, tribes of Goblins, Hobgoblins, and Bugbears fight to enslave each other and dominate the region.

Ecosystem Cycles

In the spring, most of the non-sentient creatures mate and breed. In the fall, all races and beasts stockpile food for the coming winter. In the winter, most large beasts hybernate through till spring.

Natural Resources

Most resources are beginning to run out, though to the north, stone and metals are plentiful, and to the south many food sources remain.
