Steps of Gems
Come on! Climb faster! I don't want to spend my entire shift staring at your behind.
Mines can be found throughout the Underdark. Each mine is of value, with the metal mines being able to support the creation of tools, while this mine contains gems that are more easily traded.
Unlike many other mines, this mine is primarily vertical, with ledges that reveal the gem deposits.
In order to traverse the place many ladders have been put up, with some being as high as 50 metres. Maintanance is being done by the Duergar clan that runs the mine.
As with any place containing gems, it draws thieves and criminals to it like moths to a flame. For this reason the place is well guarded.
One worry is that when the caves shift the next time the mine will become very difficult to access, as it is already necessary to dig tunnels to it.
When the mine becomes inacessible it is expected that the clan will have to move on to other places and fortunes. What these fortunes should be is a hot debate in the clan
