Hall of Slabs

It sound like the slab should be among the oldest, but it is not in the ledger, so I wish you luck in finding it.

Dwarven halls are often of grand scale and purpose, and the hall of slabs is no exception. Its size dwarfs the largest buildings made by humans without any part of it seing sunlight.

The everburning torches that line the walls and massive pillers illuminate the stone shelves that have been carved from the mountain itself, as well as the many thousands of stone slabs that named this hall.

The slabs stand tightly packed vertically in the shelves, with the newest slabs being on the third floor, the latest floor to be added. On the bottom floor is the grand entrance, with two stone doors that open to the staircase leading up.

Anyone can, for a significant fee, add a slab to the library. The promise is that whatever you write on the slab will be presereved for centuries if not millenia. For an additional fee the slab is marked in a ledger, so that the slab can more easily be found by those who can't remember its location.
