Downpour Corridor

Less a specific corridor than a tangle of similarly afflicted passageways, this is one of the poorest regions in Hypogeum, let alone Brummbär as a whole. Many coolant channels have been redirected over the ship's lifetime for quick repairs or new technology, and ultimately the majority of those channels have been directed "above" the Corridor. Time and a lack of thorough maintenance have essentially lead to the creation of a coolant aquifer, which leaks heavily and regularly through the ceilings of Downpour Corridor, giving the space its nickname. The "rain" of Downpour Corridor is a mix of centuries of different coolants, from water to terphenyl compounds to heavier molecules still, and as such can be toxic, radioactive, and an irritant on contact. While the truly desperate in the corridor still find ways to recycle their ever-present environmental hazard, most of the Corridor's residents simply suffer through their surroundings. On a station-wide level, the mix of water and other solvents flooding the Corridor is typically pumped back into the colony's system through a coolant processing point once every three months or so.
