William Earthborn

William Angeley, self-named William Earthborn, is a civilian known for his opposition to the Ymir governments, both military and civic. He was born on Earth and is of British descent. He was Awakened in the 23rd batch of Pioneers in january of YY 12, alongside his parents. He spends on average 81 days per year as a dancing teacher.
William Angeley frequently organizes protests, files formal complaints, and harasses officials, despite receiving repeated fines and community service punishments. His conspiracy theories about Black Lung have gained him over a thousand known supporters, who help pay off his fines. Until now he has managed to avoid prison sentences.

Rise to fame

There have been claims about Black Lung being a conspiracy from the very start, with some saying it was made up or artificially created to help keep Martial Law in place. This despite the fact that during the Awakening period the first downgrades of Martial Law took place as scheduled. The Angeley family started advocating these theories shortly after they awoke, claiming the various containment methods infringed on human rights, free will, and free speech.
When mutations struck in YY 19, people in fear dove straight into denial and the conspiracy theories gained more followers. The decision in YY 21 to keep the heavier containment methods in place, and strictly enforce them, did not appease disgruntled civilians. It was then that William Angeley started with public protests that quickly gained him several hundreds of followers. Soon after, he began breaking the law publicly and started an official movement.
Deliberate defiance of the Mask Mandate caused him to receive constant fines, but his followers helped him pay the ones they were allowed to. When the fines reached the point where he started receiving community service sentences, these led to protests that upset most of the population. Over the years, his popularity waxed and waned. While involved in scandals, he always turned those around as supposed evidence of government interference.

Pillager Sympathiser

In YY 28 the fourth downgrade of Martial Law was postponed following several Pillagers attacks on military targets. This gave William Angeley many more followers, an upswing that has yet to end. Currently Angeley has 1153 known supporters, while it is estimated that approximately 4.1% of the population sympathises with his movement.
It should be noted that Angeley has given several speeches covertly supporting Pillager attacks on the military. In addition, 41 of his former supporters joined the Pillagers, of which 13 are incarcerated, 5 have been executed for murder, and 9 are known casualties of either conflict or nature.
As a result of his acts, he is suspected of being a member of the Pillagers. However, there is no material evidence to support these suspicions. To prevent Angeley from gaining more followers, military leadership has ordered the entire Angeley family to be treated with restraint. This makes it hard to investigate said suspicions.
