War of the Mages
- A petty squabble between the wizards of the Lantern Isles and those in the city of Luhren.
- It turned into more of an arms race but with spell creation. They pushed their research forward to try and come up with new and innovative spells that would put the other side's to shame.
- It ended when the mages of Luhren took out half of the university district in the northern part of the city with a failed spell.
- 78 were killed and 163 were injured. 4 buildings were lost completely.
- The mages of the Lantern Isles sent aid after the disaster. The mages in Luhren almost decided to turn away the help. The mages of the Lantern Isles had supposedly started the whole thing; the Luhren mages didn't want their pity after the loss. In the end, they did need the help with rebuilding their university district and ultimately accepted what aid the Isles sent.
