The Ethereal Compass

Shoth-Grek has a giant, floating compass in the center of the city. It lets off a ghostly light with glowing letters to mark directions. To everyone's confusion, the face sometimes spins around instead of the arrow. Several theories have been posited, including the most bizarre theory: that Pianes himself breathes on it and it spins it out of position. The common theory is that the poles of their planet move.

Even without the dial moving, the arrow sometimes points deeper into the cave system, leaving some to believe there might be something down there besides ore. Treasure hunters have explored every inch of the caves but have found no treasure.

It's about fifteen feet in diameter and hovers three feet above the ground. It cannot be moved from this spot.
