Spinel City: WIP

Ruins once made of marble and spinel stand silently in the plains near the Herald's Sea. The spinel has been mined from the walls that made up this wealthy, ancient settlement. It's unclear why the people who lived there left, or if they all died off. There are few records of it in history books that mention them more than in passing.

It's believed that there may still be an underground source of spinel beneath the city, but no one has found it yet. Many treasure hunters have gone looking only to come up empty. All that's left is marble that's been picked over for building else where or bleached by the suns.

In the castle, a secret passage can be found in the study. Going further down reveals an escape route for the noble family that onced lived there. This is where the remaining spinel can be found. The walls are tall but cramped, glowing pale green in the torch light. Ancient markings are carved onto metal plates anchored to the walls here and there, the language forgotten and indecipherable.

The passage eventually leads to a cave that opens up beside the Herald's Sea.
