• He lost his wife Jasmine a few decades back, a human woman. He became quiet and withdrawn for a long time; once he started going back out in public, he was a bit ill-tempered and less tolerant of nonsense.

• Beslie is one of about three people he can more than tolerate. He hated the cheeriness at first but after he tried the Fresh Air brew and he could breathe more easily for the first time in years, he thought the kid wasn’t the worst. It’s taken a year but he’s warmed up to her.
