Glirtheks
Through the frozen wastes in north Garthspire, tall, bipedal creatures roam the land. They love to see the explorers and scientists who come to study the region. These creatures are fascinated by them and their equipment; they're ever curious, much to the delight of the researchers.
With their great size, they fear little but the frost arcaris that are a menace to every living thing in the region.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They have four arms and are very furry; their fur protects them from the biting cold. They are rotund as well, needing the padding for added warmth.
Ecology and Habitats
They live in caves and old burial grounds where they can find easy shelter. They're careful not to disturb the bodies, but they are curious enough about people and the things they've been buried with that they've filched the treasures to wear themselves.
Dietary Needs and Habits
They mostly eat fish and seal, but they do like juniper berries.
Behaviour
They're curious and open to learning new things. There's a language barrier, but they're still quick studies. Some have helped researchers and explorers find burial grounds, although sometimes those are their homes that they simply want to show off.
Additional Information
Social Structure
They are solitary creatures, but this doesn't mean they're incapable of being social. Their curiosity drives them to interact with others when they cross paths in a friendly manner.
Domestication
Meeting researchers and explorers has led to them learning how to cook their meat rather than eat it raw. They like the spices the other humanoids have shared with them.
Facial characteristics
They have sharp teeth for biting into fish and seal skin, but their faces are just as furry as the rest of them. Their faces are rather flat, like a person's. It's believed that they may be the ancestors of a few sapient species.
