• Because of how closed off he is about his private life, no one knows about his encounter with whatever aspect or incarnation of Carderen’s that may have visited him. Others seem to be more forthcoming about the experience that directed them towards the cloth. It’s rumored that it never actually happened, but who would risk Carderen’s anger over a lie?

• He sometimes finds his time taken up by a man named Marlon whose faith is weaker than it once was but the fact that he keeps coming twice a week for prayers and meditation gives him hope for Marlon’s faith. He wonders if this is one of the reasons for why he was called here, to help guide the lost.

• It’s not known by anyone other than Rutle, but Jas was a thief who had a brush with death when he gave up on his target to try and stop an attack on a few travelers. He just remembered praying to anyone who would listen, and Carderen is who answered and, perhaps this was only a vision from the haze of bloodloss, saved him.
