Vinberg

Located in the north of Atreshian Empire near the frigid peaks of the Thranor Mountains, Vinberg is a bustling city known for its significant timber and hide production. Despite not being the largest producer in the empire, Vinberg's goods are renowned for their quality and are sought after throughout Atreshian Empire and beyond.
The city is ruled by Duke Ellander Sylren, the first elf to gain such a prestigious title in the predominantly human empire. Under his rule, Vinberg has become a beacon of industry and commerce, its streets bustling with activity from dawn until dusk. Vinberg's population of about 5000 inhabitants is a diverse blend of races.
The majority are Goliaths, the original inhabitants of the region. Humans make up about 35% of the populace, with the remaining 10% being a mix of Dwarves, Elves, and Minotaur slaves. Among the city's many notable features is its grand marketplace, a hub of activity where caravans are loaded with Vinberg's prized timber and hides, and return laden with a variety of goods from across the empire.
The city is protected by impressive Atreshian-style walls, and overlooking it all from a small hill is the castle of the Sylren family. For a touch of local flavor, one can visit "The Sturdy Stag", a popular pub known for its hearty fare and potent brews. In the summer months, when the snow recedes, the city's residents flock to the open-air theatre for a bit of entertainment.
Despite its industrious nature, Vinberg knows how to celebrate. The city hosts a grand carnival in honor of Duke Ellander's birthday each year on the weekend closest to the 8th day of Marnan. The city also takes part in the empire-wide "Emperor's Day" celebrations in autumn, a day filled with parades, feasts, and games. Law and order are maintained by a professional city guard and in times of crisis, the city can also call upon a well-trained militia to protect their homes. With its bustling economy, diverse populace, and festive celebrations, Vinberg is a city that perfectly encapsulates the spirit of the Atreshian Empire.
