Melora and Selûne decided to build a new planet, one only they would have a hand in, that would be their own project.
The commonly taught and believed creation myth. There may be other stories believed too, but this is the one that is taught during schooling.
The period of time when Melora and Selûne were creating the world.
Melora and Selûne decided to build a new planet, one only they would have a hand in, that would be their own project.
Having duties to complete to do with the Forgotten Realms - a planet that Melora and Selûne informed the population of when they added people to Lamh - Melora and Selûne were distracted for half a century, and came back to the idea of Lamh later, when they had time on their metaphysical hands.
Melora and Selûne created the planet Lamh, with nothing on it except masses of ocean.
Melora and Selûne raised the land from the ocean to create one huge nation, split into cities and islands, named Lamh. These would, centuries later, become Extalamh and Ostelan after the Uprising of Extalamh.
Melora created the mountains of what is now Voxtein, while Selûne created valleys to give different habitats for fauna.
The first flora and fauna are created by Melora and Selûne. They began with small flowers and plants, and the insects to pollinate them, followed later by larger animals and trees, and later adding the animals at the top of the food chain along with plants like algae.
Melora and Selûne spent this time on Lamh, tweaking parts of the planet like weather, which animals lived in which environments, etc. During this period, the two godesses are said to have been lovers, who had kept Lamh secret from the other deities to keep it as a sort of honeymoon spot for the two of them.
Melora and Selûne were discovered to be living in humanoid forms on Lamh. The other deities scorned them for it, and for creating a world for their own pleasure, and so Melora and Selûne decided they would create a population to live on the world they had made together, and to leave it behind.
Melora and Selûne experimented adding different races to Lamh, seeing which races got on with each other and which didn't, for a couple of years.
The population of Lamh as it is today was created, with the same races that currently live there. Selûne left Lamh at this time to move on to other projects, but Melora had falled in love with the world and the people they had put there, and wished to stay. This is when Melora and Selûne are said to have broken up, although they remained on good terms, and Selûne didn't totally abandon Lamh: she still offers magic to the people of Extalamh.
