After Shraenire was transformed into a demon by Asmodeus he realized that it would be impossible for him to get back to the prime material plane with his current power. Shraenire used his power to communicate with people on the prime material plane, giving them powerful abilities, but he asked that they sacrifice souls so he may escape the nine hells.

When Shraenire was transformed into a demon by Asmodeus he found that he had incredible powers of shadow and evil. Unfortunately for Shraenire though, he found that he was bound to the nine hells and could not go back to the prime material plane. He tried communicating with those on the prime material plane so that they could sacrifice enough souls to allow him to be free, finally he succeeded in making a pact with his first follower, Naidak the blue dragonborn.
