Alchrean

Alchrean is a very tall grass which is native to the Alchemic Grasslands of Rena. It gains its immense height from the enchanted soil of the Alchemic Grasslands and can grow up to twelve feet tall. It can be used to make a multitude of different things due to its sturdiness. Alchrean is used for clothing, accessory's, decoration, bowls and sometimes can be used to help build buildings. It is known for its beauty, sturdiness, versatility, and is generally one of the most useful materials one can have.

Anatomy

Alchraen is a very simple species. Alchraen consists of giant, very tall grass-like blades with a root system consisting of small branching roots.

Genetics and Reproduction

Much like a common species of grass, Alchraen spreads through stolons and rhizomes, stems which spread out from the main body of the Alchraen spreading the plants seeds through the soil.

Growth Rate & Stages

Alchrean is a simple plant with only a few stages:
1. Seed stage, when it is, as the name implies, still just a seed
2. growing stage, when the alchraen is still increasing in height and size
3. Mature stage, the alchrean is nearing its full height and sending out stolons and rhizomes.

Ecology and Habitats

The only environment in which alchraen can grow is with the alch-soil from the Alchemic Grasslands since it gains its magical properties and extreme height from the special wetland which it grows on. It is versatile in what it can survive in and only really suffers in extreme heat, it also requires large amounts of water.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Alchraen requires the special soil from the Alchemic Grasslands to survive but it also requires large amounts of water to grow and will suffer, not growing to full height without a lot of it.

Biological Cycle

Alchraen is fairly unaffected by the changing of seasons compared to other plants, in the winter it is most lush and in the summer is when it is the least healthy and colorful looking.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Alchraen can be used in a variety of useful ways: Making clothing or accessories, making decorations, making bowls, to construct buildings, and because of the minor magical properties of alchraen and everything grown in the Alchemic Grasslands, it can be used to brew potions or to make tea in some cases.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Alchraen is usually only found within the Alchemic Grasslands. Some farmers attempt to keep it alive outside of the grasslands but find it to be very expensive
