Third Age Carving

A carving of what appears to be a family of ducks, thought to be from the Third Age. It was discovered in the year 1237 in a cave within the Kingdom of Retford. It is unknown which of the sapient species had made this carving, or if it was perhaps made by a species that has since Moved Beyond, or what the significance of it is.   Does this carving tell us that ducks were important to whichever Third Age civilization created this? Or was the artist perhaps simply a fan of the creatures? Were they beloved pets, livestock, a symbol of the Gods which as since fallen into obscurity? The cave it was found in was barren of anything that might tell us more about this carving.   Still, it is remarkable to see something from the Third Age. And, more than that, it does tell us that ducks were around back then as well.
