Pilum-class skyship

Though the Republic is content to use cheaper skyships for many of the battles in which they fight, scouting and hunting down individuals requires speed and slightly more capacity for the pilot's comfort and sustenance. The Pilum is twice the cost of the Gladius, but very nearly matches the Arrow for speed. Though the wheelhouse is similar to that of the Gladius a small compartment in the back allows the pilot to lie down and sleep, as well as store provisions and a meager amount of equipment. It's similarly armed to most fighters with a magicannon and compensates for the extra weight and power needed for speed by extending the 'wings' and weaving orichalchum into the armor plating. Though slightly more expensive than standard sails and also more vulnerable, this gamble by Republic engineers has paid off, with a fast vessel that can travel anywhere in the world at 100 mph.
