Gladius-class skyship

Though billed as the most economical skyship on the market, the Gladius is little more than a flying weapons platform. The vessel itself consists of two 'wings', each the size of a rowboat and jutting out from the bottom. Between them sits a magicannon and the small 'cabin', a sphere roughly five feet in diameter. The power core sits under the pilot's chair, a fact that every pilot is constantly aware of. For being a tiny, bare-bones craft, the Gladius boasts an impressive top speed of 80 mph and can fly just about anywhere, though the cramped confines and lack of storage for provisions make using these craft for any long-time voyage a dicey proposition. They are the least expensive craft on the market and the Republic makes great use of them, often sending them out to scout or having them fly escort for larger transport vessels.
