Geographic Origin and Distribution

Humans are the most common race in the west (Darago) and in the east (Low Country), but very few live in the mountains of the Silver Forest.

Naming Traditions

Daragan humans use Russian-like names. Just drop of -ov or -vich from the end and you have a suitable fantasy name.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

All creatures of Darago speak Daragan, albeit with variations in accent. Daragan is a complex mashup of Elvish, Fiendish, Azish, and Genasian. Most people speak Low Daragan. High Daragan is spoken at the higher altitudes; the difference is mainly pronunciation and preferred word choice.

Common Dress Code

• Stockings, garters, and loose shorts
• Shirt, waistcoat, and tailcoat or jacket with brass buttons
• Pantaloons extending below the knees, tied at both the waist and the knees (top and bottom style depended on time of day – knee length breeches could be worn during the day, but not at night.
• Dark overcoat
• Slip on shoes or boots (no heels)
• Optional cravat, wallet, and hat
• Embroidery and lace are out of fashion.
• Dress at night was simpler to emphasize quality tailoring.
• Short hair, possibly curled

• Free, flowing, draped (no corsets), accepting the natural form
• Chemise gown, full in skirt width
• Pastel or colored cloth by day, white or light cloth by night
• Thin material, so large shawls for warmth and wet
• Short, close-fitting jacket
• Hair tied in natural styles tying up in loose-fitting buns (including Princess Leia! females older than 13 do not wear their hair down.
• Essential hat, bonnet, or turban (or close fitting cap at home)
• Optional but common reticule (purse closed by metal frame), parasol, or fan
• Gloves are very common – wrist length by day, elbow length by night.

The demons of Pravus claim that humans are originally creatures of the Abyss and migrated to the overworld many generations ago. The elves of the Silver Forest claim that they brought humans to Kytheria.
