The Wishing Star Orbs

The Wishing Star Orbs are a collection of orange indestructible crystaline orbs, about 4 inches in diameter, with varying numbers of red, five-pointed stars suspended in the center; the orbs are commonly identified by the number of stars each posses (1-7). Each orb radiates with a unique aura of Conjuration magic, when viewed with Detect Magic or a similar spell.   There are only seven in existence. When all are gathered, they summon an Eternal Dragon named Ryujin, who can grant any wish that doesn't exceed his powers. Once Ryujin fulfils the user's wish, the Wishing Star Orbs are turned into non-magical (though still indestructable) stone spheres and scattered to different random locations on Telessa (restricted to the Kwilterran hemisphere while the Lon'Gi Mists divide the world), rendering them dormant for 392 days (1 year) before they return to their lusterous forms and can be used again.

Ryujin

Ryujin is a large, green, serpentine dragon. It has red-tipped, rudder-like wings on its shoulders and down its body, and similarly patterned fins on the tip of its tail. Yellow ring-like symbols run across the length of Ryujin's body and it has an additional yellow ring on top of its head. Ryujin has two arms with three-clawed hands, and two long, flat, horn-like structures on its head, with two shorter horns along its jawline. It has small, yellow eyes with black pupils, prominent pink gums, and two discernible fangs in its upper jaw.
When Ryujin is summoned, the sky becomes pitch dark, even during daytime. Once he disappears, the sky returns to normal.   Amongst the rules that have been observed to restrict wishes granted by Ryujin are that he cannot:
  • Revive a person that he has revived once before.
  • Revive a person that has died more than one Tellesan year ago.
  • Kill a person whose power exceeds that of his creator (unknown).
  • Grant the exact same wish twice.
  • Revive a person who has died of natural causes, including disease and old age.
  • Create true love or force a person to fall in love.
  • Make a person substantially stronger than their current limits (1 ability score higher than 25 or more than 1 above 20).
  • Reduce the limitations of his power
  • Affect or contact another planar system.

Orb Locations

The Wishing Star Orbs have concrete starting locations for the primary campaign. By their own rules, if they are found and wished upon, these locations will not be reused:
  • 1 Star: Travlers Town, in the possession of Prof. Ludwig Von Drake
  • 2 Star: Takoro Village, set as the pendant of the Red Dragon's horn piercing
  • 3 Star: Miracle City, in usse as the magic focus of Django of the Dead's ritual
  • 4 Star: Attitude City, for sale in Ninja Brian's Supply Store OR Hades, in the Infernal Broker's shop (if not picked up before the destruction of Attitude City)
  • 5 Star: Avalon, In a chest of the hermit's cave
  • 6 Star: Fallen Lookout, burried among the rubble of the Temple of Time
  • 7 Star: The Glacial Crown, in the ruins of a shop in the abandoned castle town
