Presto Gravey
I had to put on a brave face as long as there were still people counting on me. That's the only reason I kept going.Presto Gravey is a dark skinned man wearing a tan duster, long dark gloves over his sleeves, and a wide-brimmed had with the right side pinned up. Under the duster he wears a dark green tunic, brown pants and boots. His role in the campaign is to act as an informant to the party. When there's a side or main quest involving a settlement, he will be the source of information, as he keeps up an information network of traders and merchants across the map.
Presto is first met by the party in the immediate aftermath of their escape from Attitude City. He explains that he was coming to the famed hidden city to document it's location on his map and see if he could add them to his network of settlements. He then urges the party to escort him back to Trav'lers Town, as he is not a fighter and the Black Knight- one of the Phantom King's generals- is surely on his way to investigate. If asked about the state of the world outside the city, Presto will promise to explain everything he knows as soon as they've gained some distance from the crater where the city once was.
What Presto knows about the state of the world is this: First off, the PCs are clearly outworlders. This is not of concern to him as he is one as well. Roughly 80% of the inhabitants of this planet are from other realms, at this point. He doesn't know the exact science behind it but he'll do his best to answer questions with the following info:
- This world is called Kwilterra. It is a relatively small, and sparsely populated place.
- The Phantom King rides upon his floating keep and wages war against the people for unknown reasons.
- Large gatherings in unprotected places tend to get his attention and that of his lieutenants/generals
- There are 3 or 4 generals (unsure). Black Knight has the most sightings. Seems to be the scout
- The Professor knows more and can explain better
- Presto is from a world that used to be called Earth, but is now known as the Wasteland. His job there was to organize a militia to help settlements fend off raiders. Here, he has deemed it more fruitful to maintain his network of merchants and traders in settlements to keep informed of the Phantom King's movements
