Night Encounters - Swamps
Night Swamps 1
DC 17There is a soft rumbling accompanied by some feint splashing approaching the party's camp. A group of 3 Hill Giants are sneaking around looking for anything sleeping that they can make into a snack. By dowsing the fire the camp can be hidden along with a DC 10 Stealth check.

DC 16In a nearby bog, some faint hissing can be heard coming from the water. 1d4+1 Crocodiles and 1d4 Giant Crocodiles and readying to attack the camp (it's just a little too close to their territory). If not perceived before the attack, they eat up to 1d4 days' rations before anyone can stop them.

DC 15There is howling in the distance. A group of 1d6 Wolves are on the hunt. If unnoticed, they will surround the sleeping party and move in for a surprise attack.

DC 14The rocks near camp seam to have shifted slightly. Were they always this close? 2d4+3 Gray Oozes suddenly erupt out of their camouflaged forms and attack the party.

DC13There is a feint buzzing coming from somewhere nearby and it's getting louder. 1d4+2 swarms of insects suddenly erupt from the ground accompanied by their apparent queen, a Giant Wasp.
Night Swamps 6
DC12A group of travelers noiselessly approach the party's campsite from the same direction they came from. It's the party! A perfect mirror image of the party walks towards them, seemingly oblivious to the fact that they are already camped just ahead. Right before the silent doubles fully enter the light of the fire they vanish.
Night Swamps 7
DC 10The night is quiet and still- in fact, it's too quiet. Suddenly a voice calls out from the nearby underbrush "Gifted are those who trust in the darkness. Extinguish your lights and close your eyes if ye be true believers!" Any attempts to locate the source of the voice will be met with failure. If everyone in the party does as the voice asks, it will respond "Yes, yes! All Hail the Shadowed King!" before vanishing. The party is met with the sound of coins falling as 10d6+4gp is dropped on the ground in the center of the group. If the party responds negatively, or does not unanimously follow the instructions after a short moment, the voice will exclaim "Bah! Curse ye pawns of the Watcher!" and vanish. An Imp instead appears behind each party member that refused, and attacks.

DC 9A fox stalks nearby, looking for field mice. It takes a wide arc around the camp, staying just out of the light.

DC 8A constrictor snake pursues a frog through the marsh, rustling the tall blades of grass as they pass.
Night Swamps 10
DC 7A rustling in the wild grass approaches the camp, slowly and methodically. It's a Panther! It does not move to attack, but simply regards the camp site as it passes with it's meal for the night- a limp brown pelted creature- already in it's maw.
