Night Encounters - Open Water

3 Air Elementals circle above the party's vessel.    If undetected, they'll descend onto the deck of the party's vessel and threaten the sleeping party for 3 days' rations and 100gp (or equivalent 145gp total) for them to leave in peace. They won't leave without their tribute or a fight. If insulted, they'll fight either way.

Night Open Water 2

A ship quietly approaches the party's vessel in the darkness. Once it's in range, they fly their black flag and begin their assault.   There are 4d4+4 pirates onboard a Medium A3 class ship. If their ship is taken, the party can find 3d10gp in treasure below deck.   Each Pirate has 2d4+6gp on their person if looted.

DC 15
A Copper Dragon Wyrmling sneakily flies over the party's vessel.    If undetected, it will quietly land on the vessel and steal 1d4+2 day's rations, before soaring off into the night.

A group of 2d4+3 aquatic Lizard Folk sneak up to the party's vessel, swimming in the darkness.   If unnoticed, they will slip onboard to ambush the sleeping party, attempting to steal their vessel.

1d4+2 Giant Crabs (Giant Scorpion stats with sting replaced as another claw attack) scuttle up the side of the party's vessel.   In they go unnoticed, they will attack the sleeping party members, looking for meat.

A pod of dolphins surfaces near the party's vessel. They take in air for a moment, before returning to the depths.

A whale surfaces on the horizon and exhales a burst of mist from its blowhole.

A Hunter Shark swims through the water near the party's vessel. It is hunting something else tonight, and its fin cuts through the water trailing away from the vessel and sinks back beneath the waves.

A school of flying fish breach the waves a little ways away from the party's vessel. Each one glides for a short distance before splashing back down into the water and vanishing from view.

Night Open Water 10

DC 7
A dark shadow stretches across the night sky. It quickly approaches high above the party's vessel but does not descend.    It is an adult Silver Dragon! It passes overhead and continues it's trek across the vast body of water.
