Night Encounters - Forest

Night Forest 1

DC 17
a Wereboar and a Weretiger sneak up to the party's camp.   If unnoticed, they will steal up to 1d4+3 day's rations and 100gp, before disappearing into the night.

Night Forest 2

DC 16
A dense fog sets in as 1d4+2 Winter Wolves quietly approach the party's camp site. If unnoticed, they will surround the party on the fog before charging in to attack the sleeping characters.

Night Forest 3

DC 15
1d10+5 Bandits and 1d4+1 Bandit Captains slink out of the shadows of the trees.   If unnoticed, they will surround the sleeping party before waking them up, weapons at their throats, demanding a trade; 400gp for their lives.

Night Forest 4

DC 14
2d4+4 Gnolls stalk up to the party's campsite from between the trees.   If undetected, they will charge in and attack without any demands or formation.

Night Forest 5

DC13
Dark shapes move between the shadows of the trees. 1d4+2 Hobgoblins Approach from the tree line near the party's campsite.    If not noticed, they will surround the sleeping party before charging in for an attack.

Night Forest 6

DC12
Something's moving quickly through the forest brush! 2d6 wolves are hunting something relatively small and quick.   If unnoticed, they will continue to chase the fleeing owlbear cub into the night.

Night Forest 7

DC 10
A wandering vagrant quietly approaches the party's camp and observes from behind a tree.   He is too weary to close the distance on his own, and if unnoticed, he will sleep just outside the camp for the night and leave quietly before dawn.
If confronted, he is simply a destitute traveler who now dwells in the woods, no money or valuables to his name. He can be asked up to 3 questions about the forest, but knows little of the rest of the world and has forgotten the  town he came from.

Night Forest 8

DC 9
A fox stalks nearby, looking for rabbits and rats. It takes a wide arc around the camp, staying just out of the light.

Night Forest 9

DC 8
A raccoon strolls up to the party's campsite looking for scraps. It will take nothing of value unless offered.

Night Forest 10

DC 7
A rustling in the forest bed of tree debris and trigs approaches the camp slowly and meticulously.   A majestic deer strides cautiously forward to inspect the woodland newcomers.
