Miracle City

A Spicy Cesspool of Crime and Villainy

Miracle City was lifted almost whole cloth from its home world. The city has no walls, but is patrolled by Skeleton Banditos under the orders of the defacto "mayor" Django of the Dead when the party first arrives.

Notable locations

Miracle city is divided into a number of areas, losely defined by the types of buildings and clientelle they get- or got before the city was wrenched from its home world and dropped into the Kwilterran desert.
To the north of the city is the volcano.

Downtown

The downtown area of the city. Wide streets, tall or elaborate buildings, and a scenic view of the Miracle City volcano in the distance
  • Mayan Arcade - A tall red building with steps leading up to a 4th story entrance. The entire interior is filled with strange, boxy machines and tables of unkown purpose to anyone who's not a local. Without the city's old infrastructure, most of these devices are rendered innert. A couple of tables for gamgling have been set up or maintained in the others attractions' place. See also:   Climbers DiceAdditional Games
  • Ware Houses - The downtown area is filled with vacant warehouses. There also seems to have been a dock area before the city was teleported to the middle of a desert.
  • Enchanted Belongings - a Blacksmith
  • The Robe & Star - a tavern, outside which the city's bounty board is posted
  • The Dreaming Bar - a cheaper looking tavern and inn across the street from the Robe & Star
  • Many of the other buildings that have been barricaded or abandonned.
  • A number of the warehouses have been repourposed or renovated for various means (14 total)

Uptown

A somewhat nicer part of the city- or at least, you get the impression it used to be. Most of the buildings are taller than 2 or 3 stories
  • Miracle City Mint - a bank housing coins and paper bills from the city's home world. Since the money doesn't hold value to anyone outside of the original residents, and with outlaws currently in power, the bank is mostly unused.
  • Police Department - stylized with a large fake sombrero with a strange variant of the Elven word for police on the front, this building that used to house the law enforcement for the city, now is home-away-from-home-base for the Skeleton Bandito "town guards".
  • Lockup - the local jailhouse. It was big before when it used to house the city's supervillain population (between breakouts), but it has been expanded into an underground dungeon by the subterrainially inclined corpses of Django's army.
  • Megamart - a grocery store that just sells food items. Mostly whatever can be locally grown nowadays, plus a few high end non-perishables laft over from the city's original world.
  • Miracle City Library - a library filled with books from the city's home world. They appear to be written in strange variants of common and elvish.
  • Graceful Goods - A small, yet suprisingly spaceous pet shop. How it's managed to stay in business is anybody's guess...
  • Stand of Shava - A general store that also trades in goods and items.
  • Aletha's Vestido Rosa - a clothing and costume shop. Some of the stuff in the back can be pretty useful.
  • Old apartments/offices - towers of glass, brick, and steel that used to house much of the city's population. Cut off from whatever source fed them with water and power, the buildings are good for little more than temperary shelter from the elements, now.

Outskirts

Mostlty abandonned suburban homes and buildings. Despite the sprawl, it looks like there are more cacti than residents now.
  • Graveyard - lots of headstones, zero corpses.
  • Suburbs - dilapitated houses of brick and wood. They bear the marks of battle; scratches on brokenin doors, shattered glass windows, hasty barricades. Some have been burned down. None look inviting.

Calavera

The former criminal encampment on a plateau just outside of town. When Django took over, the villains and crooks mostly moved downtown or vanished.
  • El Oso's cave - home, sweet home for the super criminal, El Oso
  • Saloon Sin Nombre - boozy hangout for the local lowlifes that haven't fled the city or joined Django's undead army.
  • The Zombie District - A section of the plateau that used to house a large number of undead. It looks like those that haven't joined Django's forces seem to have shambled off.

Volcano

The geographical landmark of the city and lair of Django of the Dead. The outside is decorated with large white letters spelling out "Miracle City" and the top is always smoking and bubbling with lava.
  • Surface Climb - The exterior of the vocano is rocky with a smattering of shrubs nd the occassional cactus. It's about a day's hike up to the "MIRACLE CITY" letters, and another half day from there to the caldera.
  • Tunnels - a maze of earthen tunnels, some dug out, some formed by old lava flows. Here, Django makes his home base. (grap pokemon cave maps)
  • Caldera - the smoking peak of the volcanoe. Despite being cut off from its original magma source, it's still very much active.
