He's tanned from his time in the sun for most of his time. He has grown a beard and his hair pretty much does whatever it wants.

He's got smile lines, but you wouldn't be able to tell due to the beard. His nose is broken from some fights that he's been in. He has a diamond shaped face.

He tends to prefer light armor for mobility, and wears primarily brown and beige clothing. His one item of colour is a necklace that Gadreel Vangdondalor gave him, which consists of a red silk string and three wooden pendants painted to look like chrysoprase.

Family Ties

Meino Kuiper - Manfred's father. He's a barrel maker and tried to teach Manfred his trade. Obviously, that didn't end so well for Meino.
Hiedi Kuiper - Manfred's mother. She is but a simple woman, who wishes for her children to be strong. Manfred took that in a very different way that his mother originally intended, but so long as he is healthy, she doesn't really care. She may have a stroke when she next sees him, but that is an issue for another day according to Manfred.
Inka Kuiper - Manfred's younger sister. She's not particularly sickly, but she's certainly frailer than her older brothers. She's typically in the front of the shop with her mother or father to take orders from people. She's currently 15 years old.
Meinrad Kuiper - Manfred's older brother. Much like Manfred, he was a strong and jovial fellow. He was much more serious about learning his father's trade. He mysteriously disappeared one day after leaving to get supplies.

He's a really casual guy. He's the type that would talk to a duke the same way he would talk to a random person on the street. If he knows you, he tries to sneak up on you to put you in a head lock or some similar thing.

History

Gadreel and Manfred's first meeting was a rocky one. Mainly one that involved Manfred going in for a handshake and introduction and Gadreel misunderstanding it and thinking he was trying to demand tribute from her. So, as one does, Gadreel tried to throw him over her shoulder. Now, Manfred's combat experience proved useful to him here, and he was able to at least take Gadreel down with him. Thus their wrestling match ensued. But since this was on a boat there wasn't exactly a lot of room for it to take place, and Manfred was easily able to overpower Gadreel.
Now, also being on a boat, they had 3 months to talk over what exactly went wrong. This gave Manfred plenty of time to explain, that no, he wasn't trying to ask for money, nor is he a criminal. Because Gadreel is a stubborn gal, she didn't exactlt listen to him at first. But once Manfred got Gadreel to listen, she believed him instantly. Now, why would the normally carefree Mafred care about this? Because he saw potential in Gadreel, a lot of fighting potential. And what is the best fighter in the world without a rival? So Manfred was set to have at least one of his future rivals be Gadreel, but first he would have to train her. He's not a very patient person afterall.
