Greg The Mariner or "Old Greg"

Old Greg lived a reclusive life, dying angry and alone in his hovel. He was located by a party of halflings who were trying to locate several kidnapped children.  After inspecting Greg's home, they discovered a magically enchanted wall that revealed a secret tunnel. The tunnel led into a concealed mansion which housed a ball room, extensive library, and a private study. It was later discovered that Old Greg was aptly titled "Gregory The Mariner" after Davwyn located the hermit's personal journal.  Further investigation into the journal led readers to believe that Gregory had actually been the first mortal to control and develop conjuration magic. 
A letter from the Viscount indicated that Gregory was hired to leave his residence in Raiford's keep and move to Bucklewell in order to sabotage Veg Corp. 
Further reading revealed that Gregory had orchestrated the kobold attacks, the Kenku abductions, conjured the terrifying scarecrow, and maintained control of a Spectator. 
Little is known concerning Greg but clearly his exploits were groundbreaking for the magic community and magic users abroad. Who knows what else is hidden in the lonely man's past.
