Episode 7 - The Deathlock

General Summary

The party awakens in the mausoleum from a tumultuous and restless sleep to find a zombie chewing on the leg of Beldhir. The party jumps into action to thwart the sneaky zombies who had crawled over Slem Jem’s earthen ramparts. After defeating the veracious zombies the party crawls over the earthen walls and continues down the damp hallway. Clearing another room of zombies, Davwyn sends Nettle to his doom as he is crushed by the hands of a hungry zombie.
The party finds themselves at the end of the catacombs, staring at a huge pair of doors. After entering the final chamber, Beldhir feels a ghostly power overcome his mind, compelling him to kill his party. The Deathlock and Beldhir worked in tandem to nearly destroy the party, knocking Darla unconscious. While Davwyn and Darla struggled against the Deathlock, Chief feels compelled to search the area underneath the Deathlock’s throne. Chief locates the book of Wee Jas as well as two treasure chests that he unsuccessfully unlocked. Overcome with frustration, Chief resorts to smashing the treasure chests into tinder. Eventually, the Deathlock falls defeated, Darla is resuscitated, and Beldhir returns to his senses. The party then joins Chief down below to discover the wondrous treasures. What will become of the intrepid adventurers? What will Chastin Welldon do with the book of Wee Jas? How will Falk Halsfire overcome his addiction to sylvan narcotics? Why is Davwyn attempting to drug professional athletes?
