Episode 14 - Greasing the Urban Goose

General Summary

The morning after their dance with death, Arnon's Bane recuperates at The Bedpost Queen Tavern where Darla enjoys a delicious kale salad. After Moxt shares his roasted pigeon with Little Orphan Gretta, a poor street urchin, the little girl spreads his cooking fame throughout the city. Davwyn makes a deal to provide Urth Oatwillow with Waffles of Sobriety free of charge to see if the denizens of Raiford's Keep take a liking to them.
The party spots The Urban Goose outside the Temple of Palor, deciding to stalk him and his contact. Darla intimidates the contact into divulging that he hired the goblin to frame his boss at work for child pornography. Moxt tricks The Urban Goose into believing teddy is a talking dog and sets up a meet with him later in the day.
During that time, Davwyn visits Occam's Razor and sits down with Georgette who tries to discern Davwyn's intentions while he gets his hair cut. Davwyn attempts to charm his way through his conversation with the barber but she is not impressed. He leaves the organization confident that he has located the headquarters of the Thieves Guild.
Moxt, Chief, Darla, and Akorah work in tandem to corner The Urban Goose during Moxt's meeting with the assassin. Darla tries to guide Moxt through interrogations with the goblin as the quiet halfling learns how to interact with others in a social setting. Moxt's many years sequestered from society leaves him less than loquacious. Darla is able to send Trendle a note by Carl the dove after which he admits he is a member of the thieves guild and is willing to usher the party through to the Traders Quarter for 100GP.
After passing through the gate unnoticed, Moxt contacts Master Benobi or "Benjamin the Wanderer" about a mushroom sample he had gathered. Master Benobi seems concerned and advises he will research possible remedies, histories, and any relevant information if Moxt will return later on with any further discoveries or oddities concerning the fungus.
Davwyn contacts the cities Trading Offices. There the entrepreneur makes a will, applies for a business permit, and arranges a time for a city inspector. Davwyn then patronizes a local brewery by the name of Frank's Stein and purchases the business outright for 20,000GP, including all recipes, equipment, staff and intellectual property. The owner agrees to process the paperwork for Davwyn with the Trading Offices on his behalf.
Akorah sets up a dinner meeting with Trendle where she is able to persuade the goblin to reveal the secret pass phrase to the Thieves Guild, "A close shave." She is offered a position with the guild and an interview with several of its members.
Finally Moxt and Darla work in tandem to ritual cast "plant growth" over the Trader's Quarter, causing the local flora to rapidly grow and expand, the effects lasting a year long. The party spends the rest of their time checking out the local stores and purchasing odds and ends.
