Episode 13 - Curious Turn of Events

At the beginning of the day, Davwyn and Chief receive mysterious letters in the mail. After reading the letter, Davwyn takes Chief and Moxt outside of town for an unknown mission. While walking along the path, Davwyn is ambushed from an underground lair by bandits who dart him in the neck. Moxt attempts to entangle Davwyn's attacker but accidentally gift wraps Davwyn. Davwyn's body is dragged into the ground but Chief quickly shoots an arrow through the head of the bandit and rescues the unconscious Halfling.
Darla and Judy see the three boys leaving towards the city gates and fear that they have been abandoned. The two females seek out their own destinies and endeavor to cleanse the city's graveyard of the undead. They are provided a key to the catacombs where the nexus of undead activity had been occurring. They walk in to see four etched pillars and an undead gazeebo. While solving the catacombs riddle, Judy melts part of the building while Darla destroys a silver amplifying rod in the undead gazeebo. Eventually Darla decides to cast Erupting Earth through the amplifier, bringing down the house.
After recuperating back in Raiford's Keep, Davwyn returns to the underground bandit lair and willingly turns himself in as a prisoner. Unknown to the party, Davwyn cleverly negotiates a partnership with the bandit leader Knuckledragger or "Knuckles" for short. Davwyn advises Chief, Moxt, and the rest of the party that he intends to right a great societal wrong and intends to reinstate the dignity of the poor misunderstood bandits.
After bringing down the house, Darla and Judy quickly realize they upset the spirit of a musical undead wizard. During the fight the two women are chased, poisoned, and eventually knocked out by the overwhelming power of the spirit. In the final moments of the battle, a ghoul takes hold of Judy while the undead wizard pours all of its evil power into the owlin's mouth; overwhelmed by its necrotic power, Judy falls down dead. In her last few moments of consciousness, Darla watches her friend's lifeless body hit the ground. 
As she feels the life force leave her body, Judy falls into a dark void but is held in place by an unknown presence. A single unwavering eye emits an unholy light through the endless black. The unknown presence inquires about Judy and her desires to live once again. It offers her the opportunity to return to land of the living at the cost of her soul. Judy agrees to pay the price and makes a pact with the being in exchange for another chance at life. Judy is suddenly filled with a powerful wind and chokes to life once more. She finds herself transformed as she notes her black feathers, red eye, scar across her face, and a strange black silt like material that ebbs and flows between her feathers as she moves.
The girls return to the inn where they see the boys lounging at the bar. The two groups exchange some cryptic messages about their individual adventures but no one truly receives the complete story. The party is contacted by Aaron Frost once again who inquires on their progress with the investigation into Veg Corp's hold up at the docks. 
Will Davwyn be able to clear the name of the bandits who have been attacking the trade routes? Will Darla and Judy be able to trust the boys in the future? Who is this mysterious force that Judy sold her soul to? How does Veg Corp and the Viscount play into Arnon's evil plans? Very soon all will be revealed.....
