Arnon's Madness

A disease that is acquired from contact with an infected host. If the recipient does not quickly resolve or have the sufficient constitution to fight the infection, one will under go a slow descent into lethal madness. While slowly losing grip on reality, they are simultaneously engulfed in an orange mold that rapidly decomposes the host. Eventually the victim of this disease succumbs to their infection and dies, after which the corpse is reanimated and controlled by a hive mind.
The tell tale signs of infection are erratic behavior, hearing sounds that don’t exist, a rash that covers half their body, health loss, sprouting large orange mushrooms, and an insatiable appetite for violence.
