The Infernari Conjunction

Every seven years, during the height of Star Tide, the three most prominent constellations in the night sky appear to align in a most impressive formation. The first constellation, Sularani's Wheel, is the most well-known of these constellations. Representing the Goddess of Fate's spinning wheel, this constellation can be seen throughout the year. It grows more prominent during the spring months, until it fades back to its position low on the southern horizon in the depths of winter. It is believed to be a sign of good fortune if the cardinal star shines blue during the Conjunction, but a red gleam is a dire omen. The second most important constellation, the Taken's Dagger, consists of four stars arranged in an elongated dagger shape. Representing the stiletto that took the Lost God's life after a losing bet, the dagger will always point to either the cardinal star of Sularani's Wheel, or the pole star of Golarat's Tomb. In either case, the dagger amplifies the power of whichever constellation it is pointed at. Finally, Golarat's Tomb is a constellation that is rarely seen outside the Conjunction. Comprised of seven stars arranged in an arched formation and an eighth star at their center, the Tomb is a sign of either profound good luck or great calamity. The orientation of the eighth star: a pure blue light is good, while a flickering green is very bad. The Guilds of Kunrai all prepare for the conjunction with great enthusiasm. They lay in stocks of food and weaponry in the event the omen is ill, but plan outrageous heists and extraordinarily risky experiments in the event luck shines on them. The noble security teams also watch the skies, so they will know which way the guilds are moving during one of the most tumultuous times of the year..
