Kela

Based on the idea of elves - an elite race with almost no flaws and the ideal model. However these people are less perfect.   Physically they are similar; tall, long limbs and (slightly) pointed ears. Unlike elves, they don't always look athletic and handsome, and can appear misshapen or 'lanky'. According to a theory similar to Darwin's Survival of the Fittest, they are naturally fit, due to sole reason that an unfit Kela would be unable to survive in the harsh working and living conditions of Ienor.

Common Dress code

Loose clothing, often large pieces of cloth folded and pinned like a toga. Tops go down to the knees, often with much leg space while long boots are very fashionable.

Common Myths and Legends

Defining War: this had been propagandised as a major victory by the governors, and the kela had, in reality, come out victorious. However the methods in which they reached this, and the heavy losses suffered was subtly covered up and for a long time remained a myth. Reya Urth: although this race were known as the direct enemies of kela, it is unknown to most the extent and method of their murders.

Ideals

Beauty Ideals

Dark and impressionable. Strong aura but gentle mannerism Sharp, defined features and cute/delicate smile like Chen.

Gender Ideals

Not very defined, but gender roles exist.   It's encouraged for women to socialise and build their own magic. Generally women are expected to have higher magic potential and control. As a mother it's dishonourable not to prioritize the children.   Men focus more on working and physical development as they have higher physical potential. It's considered honorable to prioritize the family over work, but dishonourable to raise a lazy or unproductive family.

Courtship Ideals

Intermixing while socialising is very common. However one has much less of a sexual drive and sporadic dating or sleeping around is extremely uncommon and dishonourable.   Often men wear flowers in their hair to indicate they're looking for a partner, while women wear flowers to show they're in a relationship. Courtship tends to take place subtly in entertainment areas such as the theatre.   Courtship is a private affair and should stay within the families; PDA is largely discouraged.

Relationship Ideals

Affection is shown more by keeping in company and spending time together than words and contact. Love is more subtle and is a lifelong contract.   A partner is expected to dedicate their time and care, while some may also expect money or possessions to be gifted.
