Fizban the Fabulous
Fizban seems like a befuddled old wizard, though he can cast some very high level magics. He seems to appear out of no where to assist the party, then dissapear just as fast.
One time he in-advertently assisted the party by halting a slave caravan while arguing with as tree. After being captured He seemed to blow open the caravan door with fireball, somehow injuring no one and saving the slaves.
The caravan comes upon a strange, ragged old man. He wears a long beard and a floppy hat. He seems to be deeply involved in conversation with a large tree. The tree does not seem to be responding. As the heroes watch, this fact grows increasingly frustrating to the old man.
Another time he appeared in the Tharkadan mountains inside a massive snow fort. As the party and refugees were being chased by a patrol of draconians he caused an avalanche by throwing snowballs at the mountain, filling the pass and killing all draconians. While small on the outside, inside the snow fort it was massive, large enough for the refugees to hide in during the avalanche. After the snow settled fizban was no where to be seen
