Abanasinian Plainsmen
The Abanasinian Plainsmen or Abanasinian Plainsfolk are semi-nomadic Human tribes that live in Abanasinia. They are typically tall with dark (sometimes described as olive) skin. Normally their bodies are lean and muscular and have brown eyes and dark brown hair. Sometimes a plainsman is born with light hair and pale skin but this very rare. Those born with green eyes are considered marked as vision catchers. They speak the Plainsfolk Language.
There are twelve tribes in Abanasinia. Most tribes build walled villages that have great halls and burial chambers. The villages usually remain empty during the summer months while the tribes roam the plains.
All tribes (at least at one time) have special members called Namers. They are like Clerics and are responsible for remembering their tribe's history. At one time they were helped by using Naming Crowns.

History
Age of Dreams :
In or near the area that would become Abanasinia referred to as the Great Green, lived the Dom-Shu. Whether the Dom-Shu were the ancestors of the present tribes is unknown.
The Ut-kiri and three other tribes attacked the Wizards of High Sorcery while they were creating the Tower of High Sorcery at Wayreth. The descendants of the Ut-kiri centuries later founded the city of Xak Tsaroth. It is unknown whether they are also ancestors to the present tribes.
Age of Might :
The tribes fought in what they called the Ogre Wars. During this time almost all Naming Crowns were destroyed or vanished.
Age of Despair :
After the Cataclysm, called the Rendering by some plainsmen, there were four major tribes in Abanasinia: Qué-Kiri, Qué-Nal, Qué-Shu and Qué-Teh.
In 39 AC, the Abanasinian plainsmen lead by Darknight joined with Fistandantilus's army during the Dwarfgate War. The plainsmen hoped to obtain dwarven riches and grain. Later in the war, as the army moved toward Zhaman, many troops deserted due to low moral and hunger, including Darknight and the plainsmen.
The Qué-Nal after the Cataclysm, began worshiping reverently The Blue Phoenix (Habbakuk) and Zebyr Jotun (Zeboim). They went on a crusade to try to make the other tribes also worship these Gods. The Qué-Shu and Qué-Teh tribes united against the Qué-Nal. In 182 AC, the Qué-Nal were forced to flee in mass to the New Sea with barely sea worthy ships where they found and settled on Schallsea.
War of the Lance :
Many of Abanasinian plainsmen villages were attacked taken over by the Red Dragonarmy, killing the children and the old. Many of the surviving plainsmen were enslaved and taken south to Pax Tharkas to be slaves in the iron mines around the fortress. When the Companions defeated Dragon Highlord Verminaard, they went with their fellow slaves from Abanasinia into the Kharolis Mountains. With the help of Flint Fireforge, who grew up in this region, they found a valley that seemed safe for the Refugees of Pax Tharkas to wait out the coming winter.
When everthing was settled, many wanted to leave and go home, especially after Hederick started referring to them as barbarians. Riverwind and his wife Goldmoon argued against leaving, but soon decided to go with their people and rebuild their culture. Unfortunately, the Red Dragonarmy found the valley and with the threat of imminent attack, continued on to Thorbardin.
