Life, Death
After finally collecting the 5 Dent stones, and bringing them to a black temple of Viessa. Garvor is finally ready to fight his mother, Viessa Veusa. He is finally ready to challenge her to a fight for the throne of the shadow dent.
Amidst the chilling gusts that swept across the ancient stones adorned with a cloak of moss, a solitary figure traversed the desolate path. Each stride resounded with the clinking of metal, the weight of armor bearing witness to the determination propelling him forward. Descending a lengthy stairwell that delved deep into the earth, he arrived at a colossal gateway, its yawning emptiness casting a daunting aura. Arrayed before the portal were five diminutive pedestals, awaiting their offerings. As the enigmatic knight, Garvor, approached, he reached into his pack, retrieving a small, iridescent crystal of deep purple hue, depositing it onto one of the pedestals. Instantly, a luminous glow emanated from the gem. Methodically, he repeated the gesture until all five pedestals were adorned. At the center of the array stood a modest basin. Garvor approached it, withdrawing a vial from his pocket containing a crimson liquid – the blood of a grootslang, a creature steeped in both power and mystique. Upon completing the solemn offering, the colossal gateway shimmered to life, its essence awash in hues of velvety purple and stark black. From within, a figure emerged, armored and resolute, advancing to stand before Garvor. Drawing his swords, the figure leveled them at Garvor, demanding, “What purpose drives you to this portal?” Unperturbed, Garvor met the challenge head-on. “I seek to challenge the shadows,” he declared. With a solemn nod, the knight retreated into the portal, its innermost depths suffused with a crimson glow. As the figure vanished, a new presence emerged – not a knight, but Viessa herself. Raising his sword defiantly, Garvor issued his challenge to the formidable Viessa: a duel to the death. Unwavering, Viessa accepted the challenge with stoic resolve. “So be it,” she replied. For a tense moment, the adversaries stood locked in a silent standoff, each awaiting the decisive move of the other. Suddenly, Garvor lifted his sword to strike, charging towards his mother. Viessa retaliated with a swift, dark purple magic missile, hurtling toward Garvor with frightening speed. Yet, with apparent ease, Garvor redirected the attack towards the ground. Halting abruptly, he raised his hand, causing the earth beneath them to tremble as if seized by an earthquake. Undeterred, Garvor continued his assault, swinging his sword with ferocious power. Viessa, however, evaded his blows with graceful agility. The battle raged on, with Garvor's mighty swings countered by Viessa's dark magic. The earth quaked around them, rending the land above ground into shreds. Then, in a pivotal moment, as Garvor prepared to strike again, Viessa unleashed another missile, this time striking him squarely in the chest. His sword arm faltered, and he dropped his weapon to the ground. Kneeling before her, Garvor faced Viessa's approach. She spoke solemnly, “You have disappointed me, son.” With a swift motion, she drew her knife and slit his throat. “Yet, you have also set me free. You have allowed me to return to this world, my old home. For that, I thank you.” Thus began the first shadow elven invasion, unleashed upon the world by Viessa, freed through the actions of her own son.
