Shadow Elves
When the elves traveled north from the wood realm isles. A rebellion group, led by the famous Viessa Vesua started forming. A group that would end up splitting the entire eleven population in half doing the events, in which Viessa killed the king, the queen and the prins of the elven people. Viessa and her followers traveled west, into the golden mountains, where they found a cave to settle in, and started building the war empire. A few months after they had started building this new elven empire in the midst of the Golden Mountains, Viessa gave birth to a son, Garvor.
A week after the birth of Garvor, a hooded figure came into the cave in which Viessa and her followers were building. The guards tried to stop him, but were immediately killed by dark powers wielded by the hooded man. Viessa stood up, and prepared to fight this mysterious figure. But when he came to the stone cut throne in which Viessa was sitting, he stopped and removed the hood.
As the hood was removed, the hood itself lit up into green flames, which removed it completely. On his back two giant wings formed in the same kind of green fire. His body was completely covered in dark armor. On his head, he had two giant black horns, long black hair. His skin was pale as a dead body and his eyes burned green. He was tall enough to look Viessa straight in the eyes, even though she was standing multiple steps up to her throne.
“I have not come to kill you Viessa, Queen under the mountain.”
The stranger said in a deep, yet calm voice.
“Then why have you come, just to get a glare of my might?”
Viessa said in a hiss, trying to seem all mighty.
The stranger removed the hood, revealing a face with eyes, burning green, horns, pointy ears and black skin.
“I am Deus-Mortem Viessa. I believe you have heard about me before.”
The figure said with a grin.
“Of Course, I have heard about you, but what do you want from me?”
Viessa answers, showing no fear of the chaos god in front of her.
“I am here to grant you an opportunity. I will give you what you desire the most, for just a little price.”
Deus said with an evil smile.
“What is the price”
Viessa hissed
“The price is your son. If you give me your son, I will give you your deepest wish. I will make you a god, I will give you power like no mortal, you will be immortal, you will have your world. All I want is your son.”
The offer startled Viessa in the beginning. But she quickly accepted. She handed over her son. Deus took him carefully over, before looking back at Viessa and gave her a ring.
“When you put this ring on Viessa, You will enter a world, a world where you will be the god. You will not be able to die there. No one will be able to take your throne from you there, as not even the gods will be more powerful than you in this world of yours.”
And so, Viessa got her realm. The shadow dent, which also became the home of her warriors, who transformed into what we know as the shadow elves today.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
The shadow elves still speak ancient elvish, as that was the language back when Viessa came to power.
Ideals
Beauty Ideals
In the culture of the shadow elves. Strength and power is seen as everything. The strongest warrior will automatically be the most seen of all the shadow elves. This also means that most of the time, the strongest warriors will find each other, and in that way their children will have the best chance of also becoming strong warriors.
Gender Ideals
There isn't much difference between the gender in the shadow eleven culture. The reason for this is because in the shadow dent realm, the shadow elves don't need food to survive. They live off the dark energy the realm produces. This means that nearly all shadow elves will spend most of their time training as warriors, or in other ways strengthen their capabilities. When the shadow elves then come to the mortal world, they will need food as well. Here they often either raid villages or hunt wildlife for food, which both men and women do.
Courtship Ideals
The shadow legion is separated into a strict hierarchy built on strength and power on the battlefield.
On the bottom of the list are the children. The newly born who still have no capabilities in war. Alongside with the crippled or those too old to fight. Oftentimes not much love will be given to the young children. They will be kept alive by the parents until they can fight. Then they will be expected to start their warrior training. Which means most shadow elves will have been fighting since they were around 4-5 years old.
Next comes the recruits. Those who are still learning. These are often between 4 and 15, and will only rarely be used for missions. They are often treated poorly by the higher ranking elves. And in battles they will often be the ones in the front, who will take the first blow from the enemies.
Then comes to experience warriors. These are the ones who have come out of training, and know how to fight. But it is also often the ones who haven't shown any outstanding skills in combat. These are often not shown much respect by the higher ranking elves.
Next comes the “Blood struck” warriors. The blood struck are a group of warriors who have suffered some kind of event that should have killed them, but did not. This could be a warrior who fell from an extreme height and came out standing. Someone who could crawl out of fire and destruction and still stand. These are seen as blessed warriors, and will be shown respect by other shadow elves. Even though they might not necessarily be the strongest of the shadow elves.
Next is the “weapon masters”. These are shadow elves who have shown high skill with specific kinds of weapons. This could be “bow masters”, “sword masters, “ax masters” or whatever weapon it might be. These are seen as high class warriors. And are treated with respect. On their armor they will carry a sigil picturing what weapon they have mastered.
Next in line are the generals of the shadow legion. These shadow elves who have shown an extreme skill in strategy and are often some of the smartest shadow elves. They will often lead the armies in battle. On their chest they will have a sigil picturing a burning banner, to show they are a general. They are shown extreme respect.
Next are the magical masters. These are shadow elves who have shown extreme skill with magic. Magic is priced highly in the shadow elven culture, due to how effective it can be in combat. And therefore any who can wield it with skill, will be shown extra respect.
Next is “The God Queen's Chocen”. These are the few who have shown so much capability in their field that it has even caught the eye of Viessa herself, and therefore have been chosen by Viessa. These are the highest of all shadow elves, and are only below Viessa herself.
And on the throne of the shadow dent sits Viessa herself. Ruling over all the shadow elves with a tight grip.
