History

Their ascension to glory was the first Empire the world had ever seen. Poscaea made a name for itself through the union of all Poscaean peoples under one banner. Their military was the spearhead of these conquests, which was made up of highly skilled warriors. These warriors, however, fought distinctively as independents on the battlefield, and there was no cohesion or planning for when combat went underway. The Poscaean military also specialized in taking their opponents by surprise with the swift mobility of its armies. Conversely, pitched field battled tended to draw the most casualties for the Poscaeans.

Their conquests were abruptly halted, however, when they provoked the Seleutines into open war. The Seleutine tactical advantage of unit cohesion in the form of phalanxes and highly specialized swordsmen under the command of General Konstantine saw to the end of Poscaean dominion. Their legacy continued to live on in the south under Neo Poscaia and as a reduced vassal of the Seleutines for a while longer.

Legacy

Circa 250 AR the vassal state centered in Poscas suffered a great shift in its ruling class. The hierarchy was essentially overturned and a new state, Siparia, emerged from it. Around 260 AR, Siparia declared themselves independent from Seleutine rule, and began a quick succession of militaristic conquests of nearby towns and cities, establishing their state. They also began to reach out to the other conquered satraps for a push towards greater independence. By 320 AR, the Seleutine Empire was nearly dust, and the new occupier - the Morosian Empire, now stood in Siparia's way. After a period of several wars with Morosia, Siparia was left nearly drained in manpower and funds. The ruling class from Larsiphon constantly intruded in Siparian affairs, and before long, the old ruling class which overthrew the even older ruling class... was overthrown.
