History
Dreistadie (Literally "Three States") was a Kholamic-Ismian trade republic which emerged as an official state, run by 3 chief cities Korinfron, Utstad, and Fenbruck as well as a council of merchants. For centuries the Republic facilitated trade around Lake Todal, branching contact between the Salkans to the North with the Kholams, Ismians, and countries beyond.
Morosian Contact
When the Morosian Empire landed at the doorstep of Dreistadie, it was demanded that the merchants give up their domain to the imperials. However, the councils and people of Dreistadie knew their tentative position as a vital trade route between the Northern states and the southern Mediterranean regions. In summary: the merchants threatened to leave the region for good should the Morosians encroach on the Land of the Great Lake Todal - and so Moros left them alone, not wanting to risk being deprived of a valuable source of income.
