History
The Morosians began as a sub-culture of the Vietic peoples, an ancient culture which dominated the original Island of Moros. Over time, interactions with different cultures around Kronis produced the Eutotans - influenced by the Ismatians, Taichians - influenced by the Srians and Lammetrians, and Morosians - influenced by the Makans and Aetians.
Morosians would begin humbly in their small kingdom on the southwestern coast of Moros, until in 100 AR they would emerge fully onto the world stage after a number of wars resulted in their total domination of the Island Subcontinent now named Moros. Under this new control, the Morosians were no longer a presence to be ignored. With the expansion of the Morosian Empire went the expansion of the Morosian culture across eastern Severon and Barakon.
Under the Morosians, some cultures were still able to flourish and interact in a healthy way, while others degraded and were absorbed into Morosian society. The Morosian culture would eventually mix with Aetian, Ismian, and Dresnid cultures resulting in the Alexian, modern Ismian, and Moradi cultures respectively.
Traditions
Morosians are credited with the invention and spread of several popular board games and wide-spread festival events. They were known for making a-religious festivals which any culture was welcome to adopt and celebrate - these festivals typically celebrating harvests and family. Morosian festivals were something else, compared to other cultures' festival traditions - they are complete with grand feasts, colored lights, activities, and games & competitions.
Many Morosians keep to their true faith being The Center of the World, indulging their belief in world conquest, but are often tolerant and open to other religions. As such, the temples created for The Center of the World often serve as agoras and bazaars where peoples of different creeds may also join and participate. Those who saw this practice heretical and sacrilegious were... well conquered.
Mythos
Morosians were mostly imperialistic humans from a race perspective, but were rather welcoming and tolerant to all species. There is a somewhat natural rivalry between Morosians and Lammetrian Elves, though this is more expressed in the government than individual lives.
The Morosians, having no Sentinels to be heard of on Moros, were quite ill equipped to fund and manage the castles in the territories which they conquered. From about 400 to 500 AR, there was a period of chaos as the under-supplied Sentinel castles under Morosian dominion were unable to keep back several hordes of goblins, elementals, and beasts which rolled on to the plains and land beneath several mountain ranges.
Naming Traditions
Morosians popularized the now-standard format of a person's name being [First Name] [Dynastic Name] alone. Common examples of Morosian, Eutotan, and Taichian names:
Male: Cassian Valerius, Lucan Domitianus, Valon Daerian, Hephialtus Cimber, Severan Manorion
Female: Aurelia Valeria, Faustina Cimber, Theodora Lysandra, Octavia Maegras
