History
The story of Aomekion is a tale of ambition, betrayal, and the relentless march of empires. Founded in 144 AR, Aomekion emerged from the smoldering ruins wrought by the Neo Poscaian Rebellion. With a thirst for power rather than trade, Aomekion's leaders eyed their neighboring city-states with predatory zeal.
As they bided their time, waiting for decisive moments to strike at their neighbors, Aomekion’s army transformed into a formidable force - disciplined, strong, yet outnumbered. Then, as if destiny itself intervened, circa 150 AR, the Lost Legion of the Seleutine Empire, shamed and shunned by the aristocracy of their homeland, offered their services to the new empire. These battle-hardened warriors fueled a series of audacious conquests that reshaped the landscape of former Neo Poscaian territories.
In 165 AR, the Lost Legion beckoned King Amarkos to the crumbling city of Sida, the southern jewel of the Seleutine Empire. With chaos reigning supreme in the surrounding countryside, King Amarkos orchestrated a coup so effortless, it was as if the people themselves yearned for his rule. This cunning maneuver not only expanded Aomekion’s domain but also cemented its legitimacy, blessed by legitimacy from the Lost Legion.
Fast forward to the 300s AR - the era saw Aomekion, now a burgeoning power, knocking on the very gates of Hypsos, the heart of the Seleutine Empire. It was a time of brief yet fiery wars, a dance of empires, where Aomekion, the underdog, dared to challenge the might of Seleutines.
The Seleutine Lost Legion famouly employed as the driving force of the early Aomekionic Empire.
Collapse
Yet, all empires, no matter how grand, have their twilight.
By 500 AR, the shadow of the Morosian Empire began to loom large over Aomekion. With the annexation of Sria, Morosia’s insatiable hunger for expansion brought it to Aomekion's doorstep. The ensuing clash of titans, a maelstrom of wars and political intrigue, ultimately led to Aomekion's fall by 600 AR. Its legacy, however, lived on, as the mantle of "true successor to the Poscaean and Seleutine Empires" was passed to the rising power of Nirus, leaving behind a legacy of glory, conquest, and the inevitable decline that befalls all great empires.
