Silk Gloves

There is a small stretch of land that connects the Empire of Lacari to the mainland, called 'The Lace' by the common folk. Four Kings rule these lands, their glory known in many lands. They have a reputation of being decisive leaders in battle, like mighty eagles that swoop upon their enemies, with great precision and skill. Tales of these benevolent bureaucrats attracts many seeking to further their own businesses.
Silk Gloves are sewn for the wealthiest found within the Lace. True nobility, the upper councils, wealthy merchants and benefactors, and the Kings alike wear these gloves as a symbol of their elite status, and prestige. The pristine pureness of these gloves are a symbol of their own wealth, purity, and the empowering innocence that they hold, unsullied by the dirt of commoners, and the blood spilled by the masses in their name. They that wear the silk are above the reproachable behaviors of others. Merchants and princes alike parade themselves about as they are carried to the grand palaces, wherein the sup on lavish feasts. Hungered eyes follow them like wolves, the hired retinues the only thing holding the destitute from devouring the nobility.
There is a great importance set in the upkeep and maintenance of these gloves. In order to keep the purity, the average person worthy of these gloves will employ someone to maintain and be prepared with a second, though seldomly third pair through the day. This allows the image that they have cultivated to remain, allowing for the accidental happenstances that occur throughout the day. Nobility and the wealthiest merchants will have several pairs carried for them, hiring multiple people for maintenance. Their gloves are specifically tailored to the wearers personality and history, their house symbols and deeds embroidered upon them for all to see.
