Airships

A large balloon like structure supporting a smaller cargo hold. This vehicle is used to transport cargo over great distances where it would be very difficult to move on foot.

Utility

Airships are used mainly for transporting cargo, some wealthy individuals use them for personal transport. Airships can not transport very heavy items, for they will fall out of the sky, so development is still in progress. Some militaries in the mountains have been experimenting with a militarized version of the airship.

Access & Availability

Airships are common place in the world now, used by armies to carry supplies safely away from the enemy, and by merchants to transport goods long distances. However airships are still very expensive. They are generally uncommon outside of the Dwagi kingdoms. The access to the airship has revolutionized trading. Wealthy traders can now further expand their industries using airships to move great distances, safely, and easily. However there have been reports of primitive airships being seen, perhaps bandits are taking to the skies?

Discovery

A drunken Dwagi decided he wanted be able to lift himself off the ground, after several failed attempts at doing so using his arms he ran to a drawing board. He thought of a balloon and went with the plan of using a balloon big enough to haul a dwagi into the sky. Keep in mind Dwagi generally do not like the sky, because nothing is actually holding it up, this is what has always kept them from making any type of aircraft. This Dwagi was very drunk and cared little for silly superstitions. After creating a very basic design he got to work. Surprisingly he continued his work after becoming sober claiming "I started a project like a fool no I must finish like a fool" In only a few days he had completed his task. Calling people together to observe his new invention, he moved over to a cliff and prepared to slip his airships moorings. He floated for maybe a second before the airship plummeted to the ground almost killing him. Now dishonored by his own creation and looked down upon by the rest of the fortress he claimed that he would produce a working airship. After much trial and error and several more near death experiences in yet another drunken stupor the Dwagi produced a working airship and flew it down to the Umgri town below.
