Umgri

Umgri are average sized humanoids. Varying in size depending on ancestry. Usually no taller than 6' and no shorter than 5'. They are descendants of interbreeding between Dwagi and Humans.

Anatomy

Umgri are humans with Dwagi ancestry. They are generally shorter than humans but with mostly the same features. The main difference is their prolonged lives, faster hair growth and stockier builds.

Genetics and Reproduction

Umgri reproduce sexually, like humans. However, the pregnancy period is 11 months instead of 9. Twins and triplets are quite common among Umgri

Growth Rate & Stages

Umgri reach maturity at 23. They begin growing beards at age 12 so it can be confusing as they may look like humans.

Ecology and Habitats

Umgri generally live in/outside of the Dwagi mountain fortresses. They also live in the hills of the hill Dwagi forming villages towns, and even whole cities. Umgri can live most anywhere, but most often feel at home in the mountains.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Umgri can eat most anything, because they have combined traits from both Human and Dwagi they have stomachs of iron. This has however, lead to some less than appealing cuisine.

Social Structure

Umgri tend to favor authoritarian regimes, usually monarchies. However like the Dwagi there are some Merchant Republics, even some Peasant Republics and other governments. Despite their favoring for Authoritarianism they give women a large amount of equality in society.

Facial characteristics

Umgri generally have rugged faces, more pronounced cheek bones, and different color eyes. The males most often have full beards covering their faces.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Often found close by to Dwagi settlements although will create their own free standing settlements.

Average Intelligence

Umgri are quite smart, they are hard headed much like their Dwagi ancestors but not to the same extent. They are faster to trust people than Dwagi are and are generally more friendly.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Umgri have better eyesight in the dark than humans due to their Dwagi ancestry. They also have keen eyes when it comes to rocks and metals. They have average hearing, however can feel vibrations better than most species.
