Lore: Sajeol
Did you know that deep within the world of demon’s, there actually lies a race of creatures said to even terrify the Great Lord himself?
Deep within the chthonic world of the Demon Realm, lies a mysterious race of creatures that seems to stand out amongst even the most fascinating natives to the lands. While their original name and origin remains lost to time much like a lot of things native to the lands and known only to them and them alone, these beings, now simply most modernly known as 사절 (Sajeol), are a mysterious race of creatures who employ sacred arts that are now long since lost to time for all except only to small few.
Frail creatures dressed in what appear to be traditional noble garb, Sajeol can often be found playing their flutes in a multitude of closed off temples scattered about in the realm. Sajeol are prophetic creatures. Their clairvoyance allows them to give prophecies, although they will usually only do so in the form of song. Since the first being bellowed to the sky, it was the first song that rose the lands, and it would be at the finale song when it all would end. But only Sajeol seem to understand when that time may come. Until that time comes, Sajeol instead usher in new eras or foretell the ending of current ones.
It is said that years prior to the events of the movie, The Great Lord learned of a “Song of Prophecy" that would herald his "end" at the hands of The one who stands between worlds. Overhearing the prophecy, Gwi-Ma quickly deduced that the warrior would be a Hybrid and, in an attempt to avoid his fate and lengthen his reign, led his personal army of Demon's on a genocidal raid in an attempt to circumvent the prophecy. Known soon after as the Culling War’s, these gruesome events would eventually solidify Gwi-ma’s cruelty and with subsequent “laws” put in place, seemingly put an end to the mixing of Humans and Demons.
