Lore: Perfumer's
Perfumers, also known by the archaic term of Chirurgeon, are a diverse group of Apothecaries native to the lands scattered throughout the Demon Realm.
Known as Perfumers due to the tell-tale sweet-smell that emanates from the multitude of different potions and ingredients used in their medicines and incense, Perfumers are highly respected by both friend and foe alike, belonging to an unregistered guild representing some of the realm's most skilled tradesmen of the medical arts.
While many Perfumers have long since scattered to the winds and are much less organized as they once were, its often that travelers find at least one or two within regions or towns, offering their services in the form of potions. However, times are tough, even for those willing to make it less for others, and as such a Perfumer will always ask for some kind of compensation. This can be coins, potions, food, treasure, favors, whatever one may deem worthy of their services.
Alchemists are merchants who often buy and sell Alchemy-related merchandise: Animal Parts, Food, Ingredients, Poisons, Potions, Raw Food, Recipes.
However unlike other Merchants, all Alchemists have a special chance of not asking for currency for certain wares. Instead, in lieu of monetary value, some are more willing to do trades or in most cases Favors, leaving them to basically be one of the only Merchant Group's who still follow the old ways of the Barter and Goods system, which allows any and all to seek their services without the need to worry about coinage or most likely the lack-there-off.
Services still come at a price, but many Perfumers hope that this way of lending services helps to ease burdens, as many of the items given to them in return are often given back to the populace.

As Merchants
Perfumers who offer their services as merchants are not directly referred to as Perfumers, except perhaps by other NPC's. Instead the game refers to them as well as their shops as Alchemists or Alchemy Stations."You'll find tonics, salves, poultices and potions on my shelves. Browse to your heart's content."
