Morghai Steel

Morghai Steel comes from the Korat of Morgham. Much of the metallurgical knowledge of Niru and Thovan was lost during the breakup of the Empire of Eleyha. Consequently, Morghai Steel remains the only high quality steel readily available in the hemisphere, and it is highly prized for its durability and sharpness.   The process of creating this type of steel is a secret held only by the Morghaian; however its fame is such that the remote nation is known, at least outside the Radiant Kingdoms, almost exclusively for its excellent weapons and tools. "Fine as Morghai Steel" is a common idiom among the Kodesar to refer to anything of excellent quality, while "Clever as the smiths in Morgham" is used throughout the Elerian Sea to compliment someone's skill.   Morghai swords, pikes, picks, and axes have become important commodities, and due to the near monopoly that Kodesos enjoys on trade with the west coast of Thovan, prices for these items are very high. Their quality is such that they are even appreciated by Haborians, despite their general hostility towards the Morghaian. As the Kodesar do not trade with the Radiant Kingdoms, Morghai Steel is especially rare there. The few Morghai Blades that they have are generally imported from Aruwyn at a high mark up or captured from the Kodesar as spoils of war. As a result, they are almost exclusively owned by the Haborian elite.   Game Mechanics:   Weapons made of Morghai Steel are very durable. When rolling to see if the weapon is damaged or blunted, roll twice and take the best result. In addition, the steel can be honed to a very fine edge. Increase the MS by 50% rounded down when dealing damage with a Morghai blade.
