It is a dark age for the world of Koru. Following a series of calamities, many civilizations have fallen and those remaining may soon follow suit. Death and migration have left ghost towns and ruins across much of the world's surface. Monsters, bandits, and worse have multiplied and now roam the vast wild expanses between the remaining settlements. Mortals keep indoors at night as dark spirits prowl about. The gods war with each other using mortals as pawns. Much knowledge has been lost. In most regions, skill with magic and engineering has all but disappeared. Many settlements are little more than farming hamlets surrounded by forgotten wilderness that few dare to enter except a handful of hunters and traders. Myths and stories of what lie beyond any given village have replaced actual knowledge.   This is an ever developing campaign setting for some of my homebrew RPG games. It was originally a campaign setting for Iron Heroes, but I am planning to adapt it to a more common system. The feel of the game is early middle ages migration era. It tends more towards low magic as the previous age of high magic has come to a cataclysmic end leaving few who now remember how to work it. It is populated by the standard species of western fantasy (click on the entries in the Species menu to see my particular spin on each species).   Many sections in the table of contents are currently blank as I am still in the process of transferring documents from my hard drive to World Anvil and making numerous revisions in the process. Most maps are currently missing as what I have now are simple sketches on graph paper, which have been effective but not very nice to look at.
